Parker is playing basketball for the first time this winter. He started playing in PE last year at school and has wanted to play since then. We are playing through Upward and I love the format. They take a little break during each practice for a short devotional time and the coaches are great....so patient and are really teaching the fundamentals to the boys. So, today was the first game...
Each boy is matched up to a player on the other team with the same skill level. When the game started, Parker and the boy he was matched with guarded each other the WHOLE time...not paying a bit of attention to which team had the ball. They were stuck like glue. My mom and I laughed til we cried at the beginning. By the end of the game, he sort of had the hang of it and got his hands on the ball a little and even shot it! He was on the floor more than any other boy and Bobo gave him some tips after the game. It's a really good thing that the season is a long one!
